About Satin Dolls
Satin Dolls features the superb vocals and musical chemistry of Deborah Davis and her band Segue to Jazz. The critically acclaimed Satin Dolls has been presented numerous times to sold-out audiences at the National Arts Centre and was the featured finale evening presentation at the 2008 Tulip Festival.
Deborah Davis’ portrayal in this musical portrait of the life and times of some of the greatest women of American jazz is “absolutely breathtaking”….from the sultry voice of Sarah Vaughn to the scat that was Ella, to the versatile Etta James (to name a few).
Ms. Davis and her band Segue to Jazz, transport you back in time to celebrate the courage, grace and unrelenting spirit of these women in overcoming incredible challenges, and their lasting contributions to music history…a show that is passionate, eloquent and inspiring. Satin Dolls..”a great story not to be missed”.

I expected the smooth and silky voice of Deborah Davis, and the stylish presentation, but what took me totally by surprise was the professionalism and flexibility that Deborah and her band displayed. Corporate and Gala events require organizers to be quick on their feet and Deborah's willingness to adapt at moments notice made our job that much easier. I truly enjoyed the way Deborah Davis segued from smooth Jazz and swing early in the evening to classic rhythm and blues and popular music as the night went on. Her performance perfectly mirrored the mood of our guests and provided the perfect soundtrack to a successful evening. Deborah Davis brought a real sense of New Orleans’s flavour to our Mardi Gras-inspired evening. Her voice and stage presence helped to musically transport our guests on a journey through the best of jazz history.
